Accreditation and endorsement for practitioners

In September 2014 following a consultation period with members we launched an accreditation scheme for mediators and mediation providers. The purpose of our accreditation scheme is to enable mediation professionals to demonstrate a minimum level of competency standards for services to consumers. The accreditation will be gradually phased into our current membership structure over the next 3 years.

Accreditation for Mediators now available

The accreditation scheme was launched in September 2014 and is available to PMA members and/or delegates of PMA approved courses. The accreditation entitles the holder to the benefits below:

-Guarantees your status as a mediation professional to parties in dispute.

-Demonstrates a pledge to uphold the highest standards in mediation and a commitment to professional development.

-Indicates your affiliation with a growing community of mediation professionals dedicated to the development of constructive processes for resolving conflicts .

Additional bonuses of having PMA accreditation
Valid for 3 years from issue date
Limited to PMA members & delegates from PMA training course

Available to professional mediators who

1.       Have completed a mediation training course accredited by the following;
·         Open College Network
·         Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examination (OCR)
·         Institute of learning and Management (ILM)

2.    Accredited members must subscribe to the PMA code of conduct

3.    Participate in a minimum level of CPD per year

4.    Engage in self-directed study and reflective practice.
